What is Bitstream?

CFS Wholesale is a basic connectivity service provided by Call Flow Solutions to allow CPs to offer superfast broadband services over the Call Flow Solutions infrastructure.

Speed Variants

Up to 40 Mbit/s down, 10 Mbit/s up
Up to 80 Mbit/s down, 20 Mbit/s up

Ethernet Interfaces

Wholesale access is based on Ethernet; based on ALA type product.

VLAN based traffic separation.

Multicast Capability

Multicast will be considered where demand exists.

Current interconnect at 10Gbit/s but 100Gbit/s will be available in the future.

Line reporting is available. Up to 4,000 communications providers are supported.

More Information

Generic features

At present there are two variants:

  • Up to 40 Mbit/s downstream and up to 10 Mbit/s upstream
  • Up to 80 Mbit/s downstream and up to 20 Mbit/s upstream

These have a downstream prioritisation rate of up to the product maximum or the actual achieved line rate whichever is the lower. Congestion can be managed by CP prioritisation of traffic on each line, and CPs can cap or set their own downstream line rates. The product design allows the CP to provide fibre-based (FTTC /FTTP) and wireless (FWA) broadband services.

  • National Interconnects are available at Tele House North in Docklands and LD5 in Slough
  • Demarcation at the network termination unit (NTU)
  • Wires Only Delivery

QoS support

  • CoS performance levels 0-7
  • Multiple communication providers can use the wholesale network access, capacity is managed based on the Committed Data Rate (CDR) subscribed to.

Ordering procedure

NetAdmin has implemented a Customer Request Form (CRF) based process which will move to a full ordering system in the future.
